Friendsfavz TV – Summer Wines with Kestrel Vintners

Welcome Friends!

Friendsfavz Web Show host and special guest this week is Kestrel Vintners ! Carolina Warwick, the associate wine maker, invited us into the Club Room at the Woodinville tasting room and we enjoyed tasting three of their many splendid wines. We tasted the 2014 Sauvignon Blanc, 2012 Cabernet Franc, and my personal favorite the 2010 Mourvedre.

Feel free to stop by one of their three tasting rooms in Woodinville, Leavenworth or Prosser and pick up a bottle to bring home to enjoy while you watch the web show posted below.  Listen to Cat as she shares information about the Estate Vineyards, the delicious Kestrel wines and how special it is to be a club member. The wine club members are always the first to taste many of the wines as well as be invited to special events!

On my first visit to the Kestrel Woodinville Tasting Room, I was greeted by warm friendly smiles and all the people working were so welcoming. I was invited to sit at the wine bar in the club room.  As I  looked around, I saw a room full of people having a good time visiting with friends. I meet some wonderful people myself and one of them, Michelle, even joined us for our filming event!

We had such a great time filming and visiting with each other, a true girls night out!  I hope you can join us and be a part of the audience for one of the upcoming filming events. Please check the friendsfavz group page on Facebook for future filming dates and locations.  If any of you have a suggestion for a great winery location, please comment below.

So many wonderful women contributed to the evening to make it so special, and I want to thank them all. Julie from Chive Catering served some wonderful appetizers that paired perfectly with the wines Kestrel featured. Beautiful Butterfly Photography took some amazing photos throughout the evening! Thank you Yamileth for coming and photographing all the fun we were having!

This weeks Episode brings us to Market Vineyards in the heart of Woodinville’s Hollywood Winery District. We had the privilege to taste three of Market Vineyards current releases and have Rhonda from their Woodinville tasting room give us the highlights on these fabulous wines.

We tasted, Market Vineyards Liquidity White, Arbitrage Cabernet and my personal favorite Dividend Syrah.

I met Rhonda at Market Vineyards several months ago and she and Terri, the tasting room manager, have been so warm and welcoming to me. Over the last couple of months that I have been popping into their Woodinville tasting room I have found myself intrigued by Rhonda’s depth of knowledge and passion in their wines.

Feel free to stop by Market Vineyards Woodinville tasting room and pick up the wines so you can taste along as Rhonda describes the character of each wine. Make sure you tell them Karen from friendsfavz referred you!

friendsfavz interview with LB Dutchess

Video

I was at the taping of Socially Savvy on blogtalkradio hosted by LB Dutchess on Monday evening. What a fun time we had sipping wines at Alexandria Nicole Cellars for the taping of the show.

Socially Savvy on blogtalkradio is a show about how to be savvy in all aspects of life. LB  was talking this week on savvy wine tasting, BBQ, boating and picnicking. She Co-hosted with Lisa Cryder of Corks and Canvas, and interviewed Ali Chapman-Boyle and Kristine Bono of Alexandria Nicole Cellars. The radio show was on a countdown to begin so I knew I only had less than a minute to introduce you to LB and her show via video. So I pulled out my phone and did a mini interview.

I have been following Lb and her blogtalkradio show for a couple of years. She is an inspiration to me as she is a gal who is making things happen. She is building a popular radio show by bringing a variety of  guests focused on how to be a little more savvy in all situations.

I love being able to share  talented and inspiring friends with you. I hope you enjoy LB’s radio show and Alexandria Nicole wines as much as I do.

Love to hear from you! Have a great weekend! Karen

New Thing Tuesday

New Thing Tuesday Button

Lately, I, Karen, have become more spontaneous which is unusual for me. I am usually a planner and have a hard time doing things at the last moment. However, this week I texted my sister-in-laws at the last minute to join me at happy hour at a local winery. We ended up going to an outdoor winery, J. Bookwalter Tasting Studio, next door to the original winery we were planning on going to. The patio area had a nice feel to it and a circular fire pit with tables scattered about. We chose some comfy overstuffed chairs to sit in and sip our newly discovered wines.  I chose a Syrah, Cheryl a Pinot, and Stephanie a Cabernet. The waitress described my wine as a peppery taste but I did not notice that as in some Syrahs. This wine had a warm smooth feel. Slightly peppery but not too much. I thought it was lovely and enjoyed a second glass as much as the first. I believe this is the wine I was enjoying:

2011 Antagonist 100% Syrah

Luckily, the temperature warmed as we sat and chatted and we enjoyed a blue skyed evening in Woodinville, Wa. We were also able to order food from the kitchen of a neighboring winery, Alexandria Nicole. Cheryl and I shared a french dip piled high with roast beef and the best crispy shoesstring french fries ever.

I am not sure if it because I am getting to a new phase in life but I do cherish the time with the people who are most important to me. My kids are at an age where I am not involved in their lives as much and all of a sudden I have a lot more free time. So, I am able to call people at the last minute now and get together. Is there someone you have not seen for awhile? Reach out and give them a call or text and see if they can go out for coffee or lunch. Even if they are not free they will feel great that you contacted them and made them feel special. If you are able to get together, check out a new spot and let us know the new place you went to and experienced. We are all looking for new place to venture to.

One of the things I enjoyed during my wine tasting was one of the gals that worked at the winery. She was so bubbly and would pop by and ask how we were liking our wine and chat a little. Stephanie complemented her on her very ornate gold necklace and she told us all about where she found it and how it was light weight and easy to wear. Then she said, you know we share all the fun about a purchase and where we got it because we want our friends to beautiful too.

We Share things with our friends because we want them to be beautiful too.

That describes friendsfavz!

Come share with us so we can all be beautiful and enjoy the best that life has to offer!  -Karen Rae
