Joining us on this episode is Laurie Cassille the owner and creator of Girly Girl Gifts! Her hand painted gifts show that you took the time to pick the perfect gift and personalize it for that special friend or family member. What fun we had visiting with Laurie sipping Girly Girl Wine on their outdoor patio on a warm fall afternoon. Our fabulous community of ladies joined us at the Girly Girl Tasting Room in Woodinville and socialized and enjoyed the gift giveaways from some local vendors.

My special guest this week on Friendsfavz Web Show is Cheryl King and Cindy DuVall from HOTflash Designs.
Cheryl and Cindy are going to share their story of how a friendship over several decades blossomed into a creative project of their two art forms. Cheryl’s oil paintings and Cindy’s glass art are uniquely combined to create breathtaking visions of one-of-a-kind wall sculptures.
So why feature HOTflash Designs?
I believe art should evoke a feeling deep inside you. When Cheryl showed me their piece with the wolf eyes surrounded by creative expressions of glass, the eyes bore deep into my soul and I fell in love with this concept. She showed me a second piece with a woman standing on a path with cascading shimmers of glass accenting the colors in the painting. I knew immediately I had to share these intriguing art sculptures with you.
You can enjoy all of Cheryl and Cindy’s current sculptures at HOTflashdesigns.biz
Here’s a peek into how they create these striking images!
Thank you for watching, commenting and sharing!

Have you ever wandered up to a cosmetic counter and wondered what colors are best for you. You stand there thinking, I just want help choosing some colors. Then the cosmetic gal shows you current colors but none that would look good on you?
I have my own personal beauty consultant, Stephanie Richter. She has been an image and beauty consultant with Mary Kay Cosmetics for 24 years. I love it when she shows me colors that are great on me and not just what is popular at the moment. I am not exclusive to one cosmetic company but I must say I do love being spoiled by Stephanie.
On this episode, Stephanie shares some beauty tips and her “Lips and Sips Bar” with us. At our live filming, all the girls in the audience got to try on lip colors at her Lip Bar throughout the night. Listen in as Stephanie talks about hot new lip colors! I will be sharing some of my favorites with you too.
I hope you will join us at a live filming and be a part of our audience. We taste wine, talk about things girls love and have a little chocolate too! What more could a girl ask for?
Look for our next episode as we meet Elizabeth and Sarah from The Refinery Salon in Edmonds and they give us some tips on “Sixties Inspired Hair Styles”.
A special thanks to:
Shawn D. Ross and 2Fore Pictures for filming!
Alexandria Nicole Cellars for hosting.
Come feel beautiful with us! See you next time on friendsfavz, Karen
Do you have a business that you are passionate about and want to share?
Well I am seeking out fantastic businesses that our friends here at friendsfavz.com need to hear about.
The fabulous Stephanie Richter invited me to a Women Helping Women Win Networking Event last week. I met dozens of Women business owners who love what they do. On this weeks Hip Thursday I will introduce you to some of these women who are excelling in their fields and give you a glimpse at what they do.
If you ever have a chance to meet Stephanie Richter you will walk away feeling beautifully encouraged by her. She is inspiring women to be beautiful on the outside, as she has a successful Mary Kay business, and to feel fabulous on the inside.
Watch as we have fun getting to know each other and encouraging each other to present our businesses!
The next Women Helping Women Win Networking Event will be July 14th! If you would like to showcase your business or attend as a guest, contact Stephanie at email@example.com
Leave a comment and tell me about your business that is up and coming!
Love and hugs, Karen
Holidays are a great time to get family together. I want you to meet our extended family. Janell and I are number two and three of six girls and our two youngest sisters are identical twins! If you are wondering how my Dad survived, well we will just say he is very quite. It is hard to get a word in edgewise with six daughters! Today we had five of our siblings with kids and grandkids along with our Mom and Dad at the lake!
My adorable 10 year old niece Belli, brought this tasty creation with her to our Easter celebration. They are multi-colored Easter Egg cakes! I found a recipe for the cupcakes online at http://www.cupcakeproject.com/2011/04/easter-cupcakes-baked-in-real-egg.html
They were a tasty creative treat!
I headed to Duvall this week to watch a trunk show of spring fashions from Chic Essentials. They are reinventing themselves and going only online at chicessentials.com. I love their line of clothing because it is fashionable and comfortable with cottons and lycra blends. The lines they carry are updated and detailed with fun buttons and lines to flatter any figure! You will have to check them out online next month. They are just getting their online store up and running so be patient if their selection is not showing on their site yet. It is definitely worth the wait!
Also, check out Match Coffee and Wine in Duvall, they were wonderful hosts and served everyone with a smile. Christel Vander Weide entertained us throughout the night with her beautiful voice. You can find her information at vocalromance.com
I was talking with a gal at the show and we were both commenting on how hard it is to find clothes that are appropriate yet stylish for women who are in their 40’s and up or someone who does not have the “perfect” shape. Maybe you are needing tops that are a little longer or fuller through the midsection but not boxy. Yet, you still want to look like you have a waist or a figure. I would love to find stores or places online to shop and share these with all of our friends here at friendsfavz.
So, if you have a favorite line of clothing or favorite store that fits the not so perfect figure let us know so we can share it on our blog with all of our friends.
Some of my favorites are Chic Essentials and White House Black Market ( they sometimes have tunic type tops that are fitted yet not too tight with scrumptious fabrics)
